Creative music sessions
"Whatever your goal, Frances will help you improve, in a very patient and encouraging way."
I use a creative approach to my piano teaching in the knowledge that everyone learns differently and has different goals. My diverse experience in music means I can appeal to all students, whether they choose to follow the graded systems, learn to read chords or improvise (or all of the above!).
My creative music sessions involve singing for fun, improvising, or working on songs/compositions. Knowledge of music theory is woven in, always in a relevant way, and sessions are a way for students to explore their creativity and gain confidence.
As a freelance Musical Director I visit schools to offer musical assistance with shows. I lead large singing groups and thoroughly enjoy teaching songs and directing music groups to support the drama department. I have worked on six shows at St Ronan's school since 2014, including The Lion King, Into the Woods and The Jungle Book.
I have an extensive repertoire of easy to sing, popular songs for use in Care homes and singing groups. I recently set up the Hawkhurst House care home choir which I lead/accompany.
